2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Locate and retrieve unclaimed property records registered in your name
- Verify your identity for official claim submissions to state agencies
- Create and manage your ClaimUp account
- Process and manage your in-app subscription via Google Play Billing
- Send transactional communications (claim updates, account alerts)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. SSN / ITIN Handling
Your Social Security Number or ITIN is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+ and encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption. It is used exclusively for identity verification when submitting official unclaimed property claims to state agencies. It is never stored in plaintext, never shared with advertisers, and never used for any purpose beyond the claim submission process.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- 256-bit AES encryption for sensitive data at rest
- TLS 1.2+ encryption for all data in transit
- Firebase Security Rules restricting data access to authenticated account owners only
- Regular security reviews of our infrastructure
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Usage and analytics data is retained for up to 24 months. Crash logs are retained for up to 90 days. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time (see Section 6).

6. Account Deletion
You can request permanent deletion of your ClaimUp account and all associated personal data via the Settings screen within the app. Deletion removes your profile, stored claims, and government identifiers from our systems. Note that data already submitted to state agencies as part of a claim cannot be recalled.
7. Cookies and Tracking
Our mobile application does not use browser cookies. We use Firebase Analytics, which may collect device identifiers (including the Android Advertising ID) and in-app behavior data to help us understand usage patterns and improve performance. You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising via your Android device settings under Google → Ads.
8. Children's Privacy
ClaimUp is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the App or submit any personal information. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
