Searching for Assets 4 questions

ClaimUp aggregates data from official state-run unclaimed property databases across U.S. states. When you search, we query these records in real-time to find matches associated with your name and address history.

Unclaimed property is often linked to the address where you lived when the asset (like a utility deposit or old bank account) was last active. Searching multiple zip codes increases the chance of finding a match from your past.

We sync with state databases as frequently as they provide updates. Most states update their public records on a weekly or monthly basis, so results will vary depending on where you have lived or worked.

No results means no matching records were found under your name and location in the databases we searched. Try variations of your name (maiden name, middle name, initials) or different zip codes where you previously lived.

Safety & Privacy 3 questions

Absolutely. ClaimUp uses bank-level 256-bit encryption for all data in transit and at rest. We never sell your personal information to third parties. Your search data is used solely to find your unclaimed property — nothing else.

Yes. Your Social Security Number is encrypted and stored securely on our systems exclusively for identity verification and to fill claim forms. It is never stored in plaintext.

Yes. ClaimUp only accesses official state government databases. We never charge a percentage of your claim. You pay a transparent service fee based on the claim's document requirements and keep 100% of what you recover.

The Claim Process 3 questions

Once you find matching assets in your results, tap the property card and select 'Claim This Asset.' ClaimUp will generate a pre-filled official claim form for your state. We'll guide you through submission.

Requirements vary by state and property type but typically include a government-issued photo ID, proof of address (utility bill, bank statement), and sometimes proof of previous address or name change. ClaimUp shows you exactly what each state requires before you begin.

Processing times are set by state agencies, not ClaimUp. Most states process claims within 30–120 days. Some states offer expedited review for small amounts.

Pricing & Payments 3 questions

Your first search is completely free. Additional searches are available via affordable Search Packs. The service fee for claim form generation varies based on the claim amount and complexity — you always know exactly what you're paying before you commit.

Never. ClaimUp does not take a percentage of your recovery. We charge a service fee that may vary depending on the claim amount and the complexity of the document processes required. Everything you recover is yours to keep.

No, you cannot get a refund.

Troubleshooting 3 questions

Pull down to refresh the results screen to retry. If the issue persists, check your internet connection and try again. State databases occasionally experience downtime — if the problem continues for more than an hour, contact our support team.

A property may appear as unclaimable if it has already been claimed, is currently under review by the state, or requires additional verification steps. The property card will explain the specific status.

Deleting your ClaimUp account removes your data from our systems.
